Queen'scroft High School

Home & school communication

At Queen’s Croft High School, we know that strong communication between home and school makes a real difference to our pupils. We work in partnership with families every day, and we want you to feel informed, listened to, and confident about how to reach us.

EduLink One

EduLink One is how we share messages with parents and carers. Through the app or website, you can:

  • View messages sent by school
  • View your child’s attendance

Depending on your contact preferences, you may also receive these messages by email or text message, so you won’t miss anything important.

Log in to EduLink One

EduLink One is for viewing information only, so you can’t reply to messages through it. If you’d like to respond or ask a question, please contact the school office or member of staff directly. If you’ve not received your login details, or you’re having trouble accessing your account, the school office will be happy to help.

Contacting school

The school office is the best first point of contact for most queries.

  • Phone: 01543 227245
  • Email: office@queenscroft.staffs.sch.uk
  • Opening hours: 08:30 to 16:00

For day to day matters about your child, such as how they’ve been feeling, changes at home, or practical questions, please contact the office in the first instance who will direct your message to the relevant staff member. If your message is urgent, please phone the school office rather than emailing.

Keeping you informed

  • Messages from school: sent through EduLink One, and by email and/or text message
  • Home school communication: e.g. phone calls, or messages home, depending on your child’s needs
  • Newsletters: termly shared through EduLink One and Email
  • Facebook: we share news, celebrations, and events on our school Facebook Headteachers Blog
  • Parent and Carer Day: every December
  • Annual reviews of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs): we invite parents, carers, and professionals to contribute to and attend each review, and we’ll share information with you in advance
  • Reports: end of year progress report shared in June / July as well as half termly attendance updates

Working together

We’re committed to:

  • Listening to you, because you know your child best
  • Sharing good news as well as concerns
  • Responding promptly and respectfully
  • Explaining things clearly and avoiding jargon
  • Making sure communication works for your family, including any adjustments you need

We’d ask that you:

  • Let us know as soon as possible if your child’s circumstances change
  • Keep your contact details up to date by contacting the school office, especially your phone number and emergency contacts
  • Contact us early if you’ve a worry, so we can work through it together
  • Share any communication needs you or your child have, so we can adapt how we stay in touch

Absence and attendance

Please contact the school office by phone on the first morning of your child’s absence, by 9.20am or as soon as you can, and let us know the reason. Please contact us every day your child is absent. Regular attendance matters, and we’ll always work with you to understand and support any barriers.

Concerns and complaints

If you’ve a concern, please speak to your child’s form tutor first, as most issues can be resolved quickly this way. If you’d like to take it further, you can contact a member of the senior leadership team. Our Complaints Policy is available in the policies section of this website.

Safeguarding

If you’ve a concern about the safety or welfare of a child, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Rachel Bird, through the school office straight away. Please don’t use EduLink One or email for urgent safeguarding concerns.

Need help or an alternative format?

If you’d like information in a different format or language, or in a different way, please let us know. We want communication to be accessible to every family.
