Assessment

Leaders and teachers use a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to check that students have learned the planned curriculum. The types of assessment strategies used may vary slightly according to students’ cognitive stages of learning and the specific subject matter:

  • Observations
  • Discussions
  • Interactions
  • End of topic low stakes quiz
  • End of year exams
  • Marking and feedback
  • Effective questioning.
  • Recall activities
  • Self-assessment
  • Peer assessment
  • Phonics assessments
  • Engagement model
  • EHCP outcomes
  • Specialist assessments e.g. OT, SALT

We have recently transitioned over to ‘Evidence Me. This is an observation, assessment and reporting app. It shows the impact of student’s learning by capturing learners' experiences, monitoring their development, and creating reports to share their progress.
