SEND information

SENCo (ID 1173)

At Queen’s Croft High School, we are committed to meeting the needs of all pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our approach is centred around understanding each child as an individual and ensuring the right provision is in place to support their learning, communication and personal development.

This page provides an overview of how we identify, support and review the needs of pupils with SEND, and how we work in partnership with families and external agencies.

 Our SEND Approach

Queen’s Croft is a specialist setting for pupils with a range of learning needs. We focus on:

  • tailoring support to each pupil

  • working together with families

  • providing a curriculum that supports communication, independence and personal development

  • working closely with external agencies and professionals

We use a whole-school, inclusive approach that ensures pupils are supported both in and out of the classroom.

Working in Partnership with Families

We believe that parents and carers know their children best. We work closely with families to:

  • understand each pupil’s strengths and needs

  • co-produce support and interventions

  • review progress through regular meetings

  • provide guidance and support where needed

Strong relationships between home and school are key to successful outcomes.

Support and Provision

Pupils at Queen’s Croft may access a wide range of support depending on their needs, including:

  • adaptive teaching and personalised strategies

  • communication support and alternative/augmentative communication (AAC)

  • social, emotional and mental health support

  • specialist interventions

  • support from our Inclusion Team

  • multi-agency involvement where appropriate

Provision is based on what will make the biggest difference for each learner.
